Winter Skating Drowning Prevention Safety Knowledge
How to save oneself
If you fall into an ice hole, don't panic. While shouting for help, climb onto the edge of the ice to avoid your body sinking into the icy water.
2. If you fall into the water, don't rush to breathe. As soon as you fall into the water, your body will have a strong reaction that makes you nervous and want to take a big breath. You must overcome this reaction. This physical reaction will gradually subside within 1-3 minutes, and then you have 15-45 minutes to escape before losing consciousness.
3. Do not throw your hands and arms indiscriminately, as this will increase the area of ice surface fracture.
4. Carefully observe the cracked ice around and find the thickest and least cracked part of the ice.
5. Keep your body close to the edge of the thickest part of the ice surface, with your hands resting on the ice surface and your feet pumping water to float your lower body and align your entire body in a straight line. Then use your elbows to crawl and gradually move your entire body away from the water.
6. After leaving the ice hole, do not stand immediately to prevent the ice surface from bearing too much weight and breaking again. Instead, lie on the ice and roll or climb to the shore before standing.
